The official launch of the first edition of the Conference and Events in the Maranoa – A Planner’s Guide was launched on Monday night by special guest, Mayor Mark Jamieson, President of the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ).
And that’s an appearance that came with a bonus for the region.
During the launch, Mayor Jamieson announced the exciting news that Maranoa Regional Council will host the LGAQ’s fourth Bush Councils’ Convention in August 2019.
Councillor Cameron O’Neil, Portfolio Chair for Economic Development and Events says the Maranoa is an ideal location to host and accommodate large numbers of visitors, with all of its facilities and unique attractions.
“I’d like to thank all those who attended the launch on Monday; it was a great night celebrating the Maranoa as a prime destination for a variety of events and conferences. We are thrilled that another large event – the Bush Councils’ Convention will be coming to the Maranoa next year.”
The Planner’s Guide, meantime, showcases and promotes the Maranoa region as a premier location to hold a wide range of industry events such as conventions, conferences, exhibitions, symposiums, sporting competitions and other industry events.
It features 283 businesses and organisations. The publication will be available from all Council Customer Service Centres across the region and also available on Council’s website.
