It’s an exciting time for the Rotary community as they get ready for a special conference hosted at the Roma Bungil Cultural Community Centre on Saturday 5 March and Sunday 6 March.
There’s 400 of the 1,100 members in Rotary district 9630, which stretches from Beenleigh on the Gold Coast out past Toowoomba and past Warrego, have registered to attend the conference this weekend.
District Governor John Crawford says the conference is a way to support the drought fund that has already raised $500,000 worth of vouchers for farmers from Charelville to Chincilla.
“It’s about people coming out here, spending a bit of money in town and getting the feel of the country because city people have no idea about how much the drought has effected locals,” Governor Crawford says.
The event will feature a range of guest speakers, a trade display and a chance to learn more about Rotary.
People are encouraged to attend any of the sessions throughout the weekend.
