Maranoa Regional Council is reminding home and land owners that Rates Notices for the current half year (1 January 2018 to 30 June 2018) will be issued shortly, in early March.
Rates notices are posted to residents at their last known address and can also now be emailed and Council says for those wishing to get their notes via e-mail a quick visit to your local Customer Service Centre will get the change made.
Council is also reminding everyone of the prompt payment discount of 10% of the general rates charged.
The total rates and charges owing (including any arrears), must be paid in full by close of business on the due date printed on the rates notice to receive the discount, so be sure to allow for those transfer time delays when making payments by either electronic means or via post.
For the convenience of ratepayers, there are a number of payment methods available:
• In person – cash, cheque, money order, EFTPOS, Visa or Mastercard at any Maranoa Regional Council Customer Service Centre
• By post
• By phone – call 13 18 16
• Online via BPay
Council also reminds residents who are experiencing financial difficulty and cannot pay the rates in full by the due date, can apply to Council to enter into a payment arrangement to pay rates in smaller, regular payments. However, the prompt payment discount does not apply to this option.
