Maranoa Regional Council is inviting everyone to this year’s exciting Small Museums Conference in Roma.
Councillor Puddy Chandler, Portfolio Chair for Arts says the theme of the event is Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow and will be a mixture of enticing sessions and hands-on workshops that will stimulate ideas and creativity to help local history come alive.
“Small museums have an important role in documenting our lives and preserving our stories. The conference will be a great opportunity for residents and visitors to gain insight into how to present and preserve local history in an impactful way.
“It will also be an opportunity for industry networking while attendees can get a better understanding of the ins-and-outs a working museum including exhibitions, collections and management of museum materials.”
A key note presentation by the Senior Curator of Museums Victoria, Liza Dale-Hallett will also feature during the conference. She specialises in the history of rural Victoria and is pinnacle in the national Invisible Farmer project (the largest ever study of Australian women on the land).
Registration costs are:
• Conference Registration – Early Bird $170 or Standard $180
