Here are a number of highlights from this week’s Maranoa Regional Council Meeting.
Construction of Roma Saleyards Multi-Purpose Building Council today adopted the following target dates for the procurement process with advertising of the upcoming tender on Friday, 10 August and the release of tender to occur on Tuesday, 14 August 2018. Tenders will close on Tuesday, 28 September 2018.
National Cobb and Co Day:
Support was given to the Yuleba Development Group’s proposal for the national Cobb and Co Day to be held on 14 August 2018.
Infrastructure Fund Council will submit an application to the State Government’s Growing Tourism Infrastructure Fund to undertake a tourism project for the region to construct the bigger Big Rig and Tree Walk.
Fencing – The use of 1,000mm high PVC picket fence was endorsed to replace the existing cemetery fence along Crystal Street and to the main brick entrance on Lewis Street.
Local Bursaries Small Museums Conference:
Council will provide 10 conference only bursaries to the Small Museums Conference, being held in Roma from 26-28 October, to assist local volunteers to attend.
Outback Queensland Tourism Conference:
Council will be using the following facilities for the upcoming Outback Queensland Tourism Conference in November:
• Big Rig for the welcome event
• Roma Airport and Saleyards for the dinners
• Roma on Bungil Gallery/Hibernian Hall for the symposium.
