Council Success in Receiving Arts Development Funding

It’s time for community groups to start planning projects for 2019 with Maranoa Regional Council being successful in receiving RADF funding from Arts Queensland.

Council has received $25,000 from Arts Queensland for the 2018/19 year with RADF rounds for funding to open next year in February.

RADF Committee Member, Councillor Geoff McMullen, says it’s great to receive this funding for our community to help deliver special cultural experiences to our region.

“It is the perfect opportunity for community groups to start thinking and planning ideas for projects that highlight and promote the arts.”

“Last year’s RADF funding has helped to support the Small Museums Conference being held in Roma this year from Friday, 26 October to Sunday, 28 October. The conference is a fantastic opportunity for local volunteers to learn and be inspired to preserve and share local history.”

Queensland Arts Minister Leeanne Enoch says investing in creative and cultural experiences through the Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) strengthened regional communities, boosted cultural tourism, and enhanced the quality of life in rural and remote towns and cities.

“RADF is a unique partnership between the Queensland Government and Maranoa Regional Council to support local talent, unite communities and celebrate the arts across the state.”
