Festival of Small Halls Lights Up

Maranoa Regional Council is calling for submissions from a local community to host the Festival of Small Halls in their local hall on Saturday, 2 December.

Festival of Small HallsThis festival is a series of tours that take the best folk and contemporary acoustic artists and send them on the road to tiny halls in communities around Australia.

The successful community will be required to work with Woodfordia, the touring group, regarding marketing, ticket sales, secure an MC for the night and a working committee that will decorate the hall and clean up after the event.

Councillor Cameron O’Neil, Portfolio Chair for Events, says the event is an opportunity for residents to enjoy quality music as well as being a unique and fun way to celebrate the spirit of our small towns.

“We encourage any interested local communities or groups to submit an expression of interest today.”

The community may benefit financially from the Festival of Small Halls with profits from ticket sales to be split evenly with Woodfordia and will also benefit from the sale of food and drink on the night.

Community groups need to submit expressions of interest by Monday, 14 August.
