Residents in northern Roma are gushing about their improved and more reliable water pressure with the completion of two major water infrastructure projects.
Local Government Minister Stirling Hinchliffe has joined Maranoa Regional Council Mayor Tyson Golder and other councillors to mark the completion of the more than $1.3 million Northern Bore (Bore 19) and Northern Road water main projects.
“It is a vital project. I am delighted to be here in Roma and to see this new bore improving water pressure and water security for the region.”
The new bore, booster system and storage capacity, along with the Northern delivery main, is part of Roma’s 10 Year Water Strategy to improve water security into the future.
Maranoa Regional Council Mayor Tyson Golder says it’s a pleasure to host Local Government Minister Stirling Hinchliffe in Roma and to showcase the bore in full operation.
“Without the partnership with the Queensland Government, Maranoa Regional Council would not have been able to construct the bore, reservoir and booster system.”
The Queensland Government invested $1.279 million in the Northern Bore (Bore 19) and Northern Road delivery main projects with the Maranoa Regional Council adding funding bringing the total project cost to more than $1.3 million.
