Councillor David Schefe, Portfolio Chair for Local Business says he is delighted that a local tenderer was successful in securing this contract.
“Not only is Brett Pollock Constructions a 5 star local business and the winning tenderer for this contract, the business will also support other Maranoa businesses by using a number of local sub-contractors as well.,
The plans for the project aim to set a quality facility for the current and future netball players of the region and beyond, and Cr Schefe says is a dynamic move to grow Bassett Park as the region’s major sporting facility.
Councillor Peter Flynn, Portfolio Chair for Sport and Recreation said he is thrilled to see this project progress as part of the Bassett Park Master Plan and looks forward to works commencing within the coming months.
“As a Council, we have been committed to building a quality netball precinct equal to other regional facilities in Queensland to meet the current needs of school, social and competitive members, while allowing for the projected growth of the sport.”
“Once complete, these new facilities will provide a superior playing area for local, inter-district and regional netball training and competitions – it will be incredibly exciting once the works are complete”
The netball complex project will include eight netball courts, a superior cushioned surface throughout, large clubhouse and amenities.
