Major Milestones for Maranoa Netballers

Netballers across the Maranoa are one step closer to enjoying the new Maranoa Netball Precinct with local contractor Brett Pollock Constructions currently pouring the third of eight concrete court slabs.

Councillor Peter Flynn, Portfolio Chair for Sport and Recreation, says it is great to see major progress being made on the precinct.

“To have this type of investment in sport is a fantastic achievement for the Maranoa. A facility of this standard will encourage netball player numbers to grow, enticing more netball events to the region and increasing our kids participation in sport.”

The remaining netball court slabs will continue to take shape over the coming weeks.

Other major works on site include the clubhouse construction, court surfacing and lighting.

Works on these parts of the project will commence in the New Year.

Councillor Flynn says it’s anticipated that the project will be complete in late February 2018 (weather permitting).

The Queensland Government provided $850,000 to Maranoa Regional Council for the Maranoa Netball Precinct Project.
