The South West Hospital and Health Service is calling on community members to express their interest in joining the Roma Hospital Community Advisory Network (CAN).
The Roma CAN is a volunteer group which provides consultation and feedback on the planning, development and delivery of services at the Roma Hospital.
Jim Allen has been a member of the Roma CAN for more than four years and urges anyone with an interest in local health care to get involved.
“We meet at least four times a year and it’s a brilliant opportunity to hear directly from staff about the variety of programs and services available locally.”
“It’s a wonderful organization to be part of. Not only do we provide advice but we spread awareness about issues that matter to the community directly to the health service.”
“I am very involved in a local support group and, through attending the CAN meetings, I am able to provide fellow members with quality information about services they can connect with.”
Roma Hospital Acting Director of Nursing Tracey Hansen says community members interested in shaping the hospital’s future should get in touch.
“Now is an especially exciting time to join the Roma CAN, with planning and construction of the brand-new hospital under way.”
“Consumer and community engagement continues to be a priority and community input is invaluable in delivering quality public health services.’’
Applications to join the Roma CAN close at 5pm on Monday, 31 July 2017. Anyone interested in applying for a position
