Maranoa Regional Council met this week and here’s a snapshot of the issues under discussion.
In Situ Rock Crushing
Council will engage a contractor to undertake rock crushing on sections of Blue Lagoon Road and Rockvale Road. The balance of the identified program of works will be developed to allow sequencing of works in the most efficient manner to enable the rollout of this 5-year program of works.
Injune Aerodrome Upgrade
Project Upgrade works to the signalling area and helipad at Injune Airstrip have been completed. The project was funded jointly by the Federal Government’s Remote Airstrip Upgrade Funding programme and Maranoa Regional Council.
Outback Queensland Tourism Association (OQTA)
Council will continue to pay a membership to the OQTA to represent them as the primary Destination Marketing Organisation for the Maranoa region for 2018/19.
Roma and Mitchell Shows 2019
Application will be made for Ministerial Approval for the following special holidays:
• Friday, 10 May 2019 for the 2019 Roma Annual Show Holiday
• Tuesday, 14 May 2019 for the 2019 Mitchell Annual Show Holiday.
My Maranoa Business
Approval was given for additional businesses to be added to the Register of Pre-Qualified Suppliers for Vegetation Management Services (including Grounds Maintenance) and Register of Pre-Qualified Suppliers for Dry Hire of Equipment.
