Christmas Stabbing

A 40 year old Roma man is in recovery after being stabbed with a kitchen knife by his female partner on Christmas evening.

The man who suffered a knife wound to his chest has recently been discharged after spending a number of days in a Brisbane hospital.

The man was airlifted to Brisbane on the night of the incident, but is believed to be in a stable condition.

The 36 year old woman who has been charged with unlawful wounding will appear in court on January 16.

Roadside Drug Offences

One motorist was charged with driving under the influence over the Christmas period.

Police also await test results for three motorists who were alleged to be driving under the influence of illegal drugs.

Senior Sergeant Scott Jackson said road conditions were otherwise very positive for this time of year.

“I can only praise the people and visitors of the Maranoa for their driving behaviours this season,” he says.

Police continue methamphetamine investigation

Police are continuing to investigate the background of a 28 year old man who was caught in possession of 21 grams of methamphetamine on December 19.

“Detectives are looking at where the ICE came from and where its intended target was,” says Sgt Jackson.

The former Roma resident was charged with being in possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug utensils and assaulting and obstructing a police officer.

The man who now lives in Bundaberg will appear in court on January 28.
