Maranoa Volunteers – Council is Calling

Maranoa Regional Council is on the lookout for residents interested in volunteering their time at the region’s facilities and Visitor Information Centres.

Injune_Information_CentreWith so much to see and experience, Council is in need of enthusiastic helpers to welcome visitors to our region and provide valuable information about its many unique attractions and industries.

And they’re also on the hunt for creative types and friendly team members to volunteer at our local libraries and art galleries.

Councillor Puddy Chandler, Portfolio Chair for Tourism says there are a number of volunteering opportunities throughout the region.

“Volunteers are the backbone of our many community groups and Council facilities, such as Visitor Information Centres, libraries and art galleries.”

“Essential to our thriving tourism industry, volunteers in our Visitor Information Centres provide vital information about the region to entice visitors to stay a while and enjoy themselves.”

Volunteers can:
• Receive on the job training and experience familiarization tours throughout the year.
• Lead storytelling, arts, crafts and reading groups for children and adults in our libraries.
• Assist with the setup and pull down of exhibitions at art galleries.
• Tailor your commitment to fit your lifestyle.

Would be volunteers can register their interest at Visitor Information Centres, libraries or galleries.
