Maranoa youngsters are set to skate into the school holidays with a tonne of family friendly activities on the agenda.
Maranoa Regional Councillor Peter Flynn, Portfolio Chair for Youth Council says young people will be in for a treat with a variety of things to do, such as learning how to skateboard, laser skirmish, arts and craft activities, tennis clinics, NAIDOC activities and much more.
The activities and events run from Saturday, 30 June – Sunday, 15 July 2018.
Councillor Flynn says every year the holiday program allows youngsters throughout the region to enjoy their school holidays with a variety of activities.
“A majority of these action-packed activities are free, with a focus this year on getting out and about with an exciting skate boarding workshop as well as a number of NAIDOC week inspired events.”
“I encourage parents to check the holiday program in their town and organise your holiday to help keep the boredom blues away.”
As well as activities run by Council and other community groups, parents can also take advantage of the many public facilities across the region including skate parks, playgrounds, libraries and sporting fields to keep their children active and entertained this winter.
“You can pick up a School Holiday Program from your local Council Customer Service Centre or download the program by visiting www.maranoa.qld.gov.au.”
Parents and carers are reminded that children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and children under 12 attending library activities must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Activities are run by Council and other community groups.
Please be sure to check the program to register.
