An operation across St George, Roma and Miles this week targeting drug related crime has led to the arrest of 39 people.
The operation Oscar Quebec Density involved South West District detectives, officers from the Roma Patrol Group, Major and Organised Crime Group, Road Policing Command and Brisbane Dog Squad officers.
Throughout the three-day operation, police executed 23 search warrants at various addresses, allegedly locating numerous quantities of drugs and other items of property linked to drug offences.
A total of almost 500 roadside drink and drug driving tests were carried out with 15 traffic infringement notices issued.
A further 39 people have been charged with a total of 72 offences as a result of the operation, which included three significant ice seizures, the location of number of restricted weapons and 13 drivers being charged with drug driving.
South West District Detective Inspector Paul Hart says the Queensland Police Service remains focussed on removing harmful drugs from the community through proactive policing and information from the public.
“Every drug, and every weapon police seize contributes to the safety of our community.”
“We continue to encourage members of the public to contact Crime Stoppers if they notice suspicious behaviour in and around their neighbourhoods. We will continue to use calculated and targeted methods to dismantle drug related crime.”
The majority of the offenders are expected to appear in the St George and Roma Magistrates Court on varying dates.
