Queensland Road Safety Week

It’s Queensland Road Safety Week and Police across the state have been out and about, touring our vast highways performing Speed Enforcement Patrols.

Our remote roads and rural highways present some unique driving conditions with heavy vehicles, wide loads, livestock and native wildlife.

With your assistance, Police aim to reduce road incidents on Queensland roads and would like to remind motorists to share the road safely with other road users, follow the road rules and be patient and courteous.

Remember, the speed limit is the maximum legal speed that you can drive at, not the speed you must travel.

So, always drive to the conditions, stay on track outback and speak up for road safety.
