Maranoa Regional Councillor Peter Flynn says he’s thrilled to see, the construction of the new selling yards developing The Roma Saleyards Improvement Plan Stage 1 is progressing with the selling pen yard frames now complete and welding of the fence rails now in full swing.
Councillor Flynn, Portfolio Chair for the Roma Saleyards says the new selling pens and drafts are being built on the eastern side of the yards and will make way for additional receival/delivery yards on the western side of the yards.
“Stage 1 of the Improvement Plan is set to be completed in April 2019, weather permitting. It is fantastic to see the construction of the new selling yards developing and to see how much more room it will make for additional receival/delivery yards once completed.”
“Seeing strong progress on the Saleyards Improvement Plan is a great achievement for Maranoa Regional Council and we look forward to the continual development in the coming months.”
Cr Flynn says the total cost of the Roma Saleyards Improvement Plan – Stage 1 project is approximately $2.173 million.
