Roma’s Community Garden Set to Bloom

Plans are underway to see the Roma Community Garden bloom once more, with committee meetings taking place monthly to discuss potential enhancements for the site.

The meetings have seen 23 keen residents come together to discuss improvements, including a new watering system, new garden beds and repairs, as well as the garden’s overall design.

Councillor Janelle Stanford, Portfolio Chair for Community and Social Services says it is great to see so many people interested and willing to lend a helping hand to get the garden going again.

“The Roma Community Garden is a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and help out a community group, all while getting your hands dirty and growing some tasty veggies.”

“Thank you to all of the local businesses who are supporting the Community Garden this year – groups like these could not thrive without your support.”

The Roma Community Garden Committee is always looking for new members.

It costs $15 to become a member and $30 for a plot). The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 1 August at 5pm at the Community Garden with anyone welcome to attend.

So keep an eye out for more information regarding the date for the first working bee of the year which will come shortly.
