Maranoa Regional Council will host the annual Small Museums Conference this year in Roma.
The Conference will see representatives from smaller museums and local historical societies from across the State gather in Roma for a 3-day Conference from Friday, 26 October – Sunday, 28 October 2018.
Councillor Puddy Chandler, Portfolio Chair for Arts, says Council is currently working with Museums and Galleries Queensland to bring a full program of inspirational and practical topics for small museum and local historical society workers and volunteers.
“The conference has been running since the 1980s and is held in a different town each year. This year’s theme is Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.”
“The conference aims to inspire communities to share and preserve local history from yesterday, today and tomorrow. And will consist of a blend of sessions and hands on workshops to stimulate ideas for staff and volunteers to share and put into practice.”
The final program for the Small Museums Conference will be released in May 2018
